November 7th at The Table…

November 6, 2010

Tim, Pastor of The Table

“The movement of our life, if we are attentive, is the movement of orientation, disorientation and reorientation. And in our daily pilgrimage, we use much of our energy for this work.” Walter Brueggemann

It seems as though almost any kind of change takes us through an arc of experience whose shape can be articulated as Brueggamann suggests in the above quote. The life of faith is no exception. Unless we want to remain in the same place in our faith – not growing or changing – we will face some kind of disorientation and reorientation experience.

This Sunday we are going to be guided through this movement from orientation, through disorientation and toward a reorientation by the much beloved Psalm 23. The morning will weave together teaching and music in a gathering that is bit different from the “heady” work we’ve been doing, and (I hope) provide a time for us together of experiencing the safe place that the love of God provides for us when other things may feel like they are in upheaval.

I’m looking forward to our time together.

Peace,

tim
